Connect your AIBeta

Just tell your AI. Here is how to set it up.

Connect PawsCake to Claude or ChatGPT once, and your assistant can read and update your pets' records right from the conversation. It takes about a minute, and it's included for free.

Connector address

https://www.pawscake.com/api/mcp

Every assistant below uses this same address. Copy it exactly as written, including the www part.

Before you start

  • A free PawsCake account with at least one pet added. Your assistant signs in as you, so it only ever sees your own pets and the pets family members have shared with you.
  • An assistant that supports custom connectors. Claude supports them on every platform, ChatGPT only in its desktop app, and the Gemini app not at all yet. Pick your assistant and platform below for the exact steps.

Connect your assistant

Each assistant and platform behaves a little differently, so pick yours for the exact steps.

Works on claude.ai in the browser and in the Claude desktop app. The steps are the same in both.

  1. 1
Open Settings in Claude, then go to Connectors.
  2. 2
Choose Add custom connector, give it a name like PawsCake, and paste the connector address from the top of this page.
  3. 3
Click Add. Claude sends you to PawsCake to sign in with your own account and approve the connection.
  4. 4
That's it. In any new chat, ask something like "When is my cat's next vaccine due?" and Claude will check PawsCake.

Connected here means connected everywhere. PawsCake is tied to your Claude account, so it shows up in the Claude mobile app automatically too.

Already connected on desktop?

Then you're done. Connectors belong to your Claude account, not the device, so PawsCake appears in the Claude mobile app automatically. There is nothing extra to set up on your phone.

Starting from your phone instead? Connect once through the browser and the app picks it up:

  1. 1
Open claude.ai in your phone's browser and sign in with the same account you use in the app.
  2. 2
Go to Settings, then Connectors, choose Add custom connector, and paste the connector address from the top of this page.
  3. 3
Click Add, sign in with your PawsCake account, and approve the connection.
  4. 4
Open the Claude mobile app. PawsCake is already there, so just ask about your pets.

Desktop app only

ChatGPT supports custom connectors only in its desktop app for Mac and Windows. The ChatGPT mobile app doesn't support them yet, and neither does the chatgpt.com website, so install the desktop app first if you don't have it.

ChatGPT calls connectors MCP servers. The form has a few extra fields, but you only need three of them.

  1. 1

Open Settings in ChatGPT, then Plugins. Click Add and choose Add MCP server.

ChatGPT's Plugins settings with the Add menu open and Add MCP server highlighted
The Add menu on ChatGPT's Plugins page.
  2. 2

Name it PawsCake, set the type to Streamable HTTP, and paste the connector address into the URL field. Leave the bearer token and header fields empty, then click Save.

ChatGPT's custom MCP form filled in with the name Pawscake, type Streamable HTTP, and the PawsCake connector address
Only the name, type, and URL are needed. Everything else stays empty.
  3. 3

Back in the list, click Authenticate next to PawsCake, sign in with your PawsCake account, and approve the connection.

The pawscake row in ChatGPT's MCP list with an Authenticate button and the connector toggled on
The Authenticate button finishes the sign-in.

If you already added PawsCake on claude.ai, Claude Code picks it up automatically. To add it directly instead, run:

claude mcp add --transport http pawscake https://www.pawscake.com/api/mcp

Then run /mcp inside Claude Code to sign in and approve the connection.

Not supported yet

The Gemini app doesn't support custom connectors, so PawsCake can't connect to Gemini yet. We'll add the steps here as soon as that changes. In the meantime, Claude and ChatGPT both work with the same PawsCake account.

Help your assistant remember to use it

Assistants are careful with connectors, so a general question like "how is my cat doing?" may not make them check PawsCake on its own. One small nudge fixes that for good:

Tell your assistant once

"My pets' records live in the PawsCake connector. Check it whenever I ask about my pets."

  • In ChatGPT, say the phrase above and ask it to remember. It saves it as a memory and checks PawsCake from then on.
  • In Claude, add the phrase to your profile preferences in Settings, or to a project's instructions if you keep pet chats in one project.
  • Or simply mention PawsCake or your pet's name at the start of a chat. Either one is enough of a hint.

What your assistant can do once connected

It can look up your pets and their pages, log vet visits with costs, keep medications and ongoing conditions up to date, jot down daily notes, save memories, and check your insurance details. Mention something in conversation, and it lands in the right place on PawsCake.

Sharing your account with family? Each person connects their own assistant with their own PawsCake login, and everyone sees the same up-to-date records. You can disconnect PawsCake at any time from your assistant's connector settings.
